ARTIST STATEMENT

Jelaine Faunce is a contemporary realist painter currently residing in Las Vegas, NV. Her medium of choice is oil on canvas and she works in the still life genre. "Something of a dreamer, I prefer to approach my subjects from a meditative perspective, letting subconscious impulse direct the arrangement. Often, there is a meaning or story behind each painting which I discover as I'm working on them. This makes the experience feel like a treasure hunt. At the very least, it keeps me nimble."
